Jonna Smith, Owner
Jonna Smith began her career in property management with JPI, a national multifamily organization with an annual production of over $900 million. Starting as an on-site leasing professional, Jonna diligently worked her way into a property manager position. From there Jonna joined the corporate office, playing a strategic role in leadership and heading up various human resource operations while developing an expertise in recruitment and staffing.
It was her passion for matching the right candidate with the right company that led her to leave the progressive JPI to found peoplezest. Jonna has chosen to serve the multifamily industry with a concentration in property management, capitalizing on her thorough understanding of on-site and mid to senior level management positions. Her extensive resources and in-depth knowledge of the industry ensure that finding the right candidate is not a matter of chance.

Darla Miles, Lead Recruiter
Darla Miles is a management professional with over 20 years of property management experience and knowledge. She began her career as an onsite manager and worked her way up to the regional vice president role overseeing 35 assets totaling over 9,200 units. She recently worked as an Area Manager for CWS Corporate Housing for 8 years where she was responsible for the North Texas and Louisiana markets. She has lease up, tax credit, property renovation, refinance, acquisition and disposition experience.
Throughout her career, Darla has recruited and trained hundreds of multifamily professionals. Her in depth knowledge of the property management industry and the relationships she has built over the years will contribute to her ability to match the right candidate with the right position.
Darla holds a BS degree from Texas Tech University and earned the designation of Certified Property Manager from the Institute of Real Estate Management as well as obtaining her Certified Corporate Housing Professional certification from the Corporate Housing Providers Association.
Mary Martin, Digital Media Director
Mary Martin has over eight years of experience in marketing and graphic design. She began her career in Central Florida in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry, providing marketing, public relations and presentation support. Mary then transitioned to the non-profit sector as Marketing Manager for the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) in Alachua, FL.
Mary moved with her husband and son to Dallas, Texas in 2013 where she began consulting for nonprofit organizations and socially conscious small businesses.
